About the Position

The role of Operational Excellence Specialist involves developing and executing a focused effort to enhance operational effectiveness and profitability for manufacturing sites and processes. This position collaborates with leadership teams and directors to develop and lead performance transformations, driving continuous improvement culture.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement cost improvement projects through operational efficiencies.
  • Establish standards for group manufacturing excellence and define policies accordingly.
  • Conduct diagnostics to identify areas for improvement and track lost production causes.
  • Lead value stream mapping exercises to streamline/improve processes.
  • Propose and support improvement projects within businesses for identifying levers, setting objectives, and carrying out Manufacturing Excellence programs.
  • Ensure sustainability of improvements by providing training and skill building for leaders.
  • Exhibit safety awareness and safe work practices, protecting employees and maintaining a clean working environment.
  • Work closely with OE Managers in US, EU & IN sites and the Director of OE (US, EU & IN) to implement improvement initiatives.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a scientific discipline; education with a scientific background is highly desired.
  • Relevant work experience: BS/BA in a scientific or business discipline and at least 5-8 years' experience in project/program management, operational excellence / continuous improvement, or consulting role required.
  • Experience in the pharmaceutical/biotechnology field and relevant MS/MBA (Project Management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, etc.) preferred.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Strong technical skills, initiative, and impact/influence skills.
  • Proven experience with Lean Six Sigma to drive business results.
  • Certified Six sigma Black Belt, bachelor's degree in Science or Engineering, Chemical Engineering preferred.
