Academic Dean for Product Design

We are seeking an accomplished Academic Dean to lead our Product Design department. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in industrial design and exceptional leadership skills to oversee academic programs.

  • Develop and implement academic programs that align with the school's mission and vision.
  • Supervise and support faculty members in their teaching practices, research projects, and professional development.
  • Conduct regular evaluations of program curriculum to ensure it meets industry standards and stays relevant.
  • Collaborate with other departments to enhance interdisciplinary learning opportunities for students.
  • Oversee student recruitment efforts and plan departmental resources effectively.
  • Bring industry experts for academe engagements like teaching, master classes, conferences/symposiums, design festivals.
  • Be well-versed with regulatory processes and documentations.

Qualifications:

  • A Master's or Ph.D. degree in industrial design is required.
  • Total 15+ years of experience with a minimum of 5 years experience in an academic leadership role within a design school setting.
  • Strong understanding of current trends and developments in the field of industrial design.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage with faculty, staff, students, industry professionals, and other stakeholders.
