Senior Associate Job Description

In this challenging role, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of a fund's existing assets. This involves working closely with the client's asset management team to monitor and analyze cash flows, track and analyze asset performance, manage risk, oversee third-party partners, and execute the business plan.

Your key responsibilities will include portfolio onboarding, tracking and summarizing reporting, preparing analytics, communicating status, process, and asset level activity to various groups. You will also collaborate with the asset management team and external business partners in the facilitation and review of performance, suggesting value enhancements where applicable.

A significant aspect of this role is the coordination with third parties and internal teams on lender reporting, monitoring loan covenants, and ensuring compliance with credit agreements. You will also outline key terms in credit and purchase agreements and execute operational efficiencies and information flow with both internal and external teams.

An additional responsibility will be managing funding and distribution activity, working closely with internal and external teams. Real Estate Technology Project Management is also an essential part of this role, involving collaboration with the client's technology team and third-party consultants on high-priority real estate technology implementation initiatives.

You will perform detailed reviews of chart of account mapping to real estate asset's trial balance accounts during the implementation stage of technology and onboard new deals. Financial statement reconciliation and resolving mapping discrepancies are also crucial, requiring you to determine the need for new trial balance accounts where necessary.

Utilizing dynamic portfolio management tools, you will analyze deal standardized financial statements, key performance metrics, and other partner reporting on a recurring basis. Strong accounting knowledge, advanced MS Excel and MS PowerPoint skills, and financial and analytical skills are required for success in this role.

Training and mentoring junior team members are also part of your responsibilities, along with advantageous skills such as knowledge of third-party databases like Yardi, Argus, CoStar, Real Page, Bloomberg, Alteryx, Tableau, etc., and hands-on experience with VBA macros. Academic requirements include a CPA/CFA/MBA or equivalent qualification in accounting and finance from a reputed institution.
