Software Development Manager Job

About the Role:

  • This position will include software development, debugging, and optimization on AMD silicon platforms during pre-si, bring-up, and post-si phases.
  • Candidates must have strong technical leadership skills to coach and mentor staff.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • The candidate should demonstrate flexibility, strong motivation, and a proven track record of meeting aggressive deadlines as well as the ability to work in a team environment.
  • Individuals with proven problem-solving skills are highly desired to work with innovative engineers and managers to engineer cutting-edge AMD silicon debug software.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Collaborate with design teams and architects to understand and define software requirements. Translate these requirements into executable task plans.
  2. Responsible for designing and managing software development activities for the audio diagnostics team at AMD.
  3. Code quality, robustness, extendibility, and performance are critical. Responsible for code reviews, creating unit tests, authorizing detailed documentation, and working with local and global teams to deliver software solutions on schedule.

Mandatory Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proficient in C++ programming.
  • Audiot protocol experience: I2S, Azalia, Soundwire.
  • Strong understanding of Linux OS and its internals, memory, and kernel.
  • I/O execution/development experience on platforms/boards/SoCs.
  • Scripting knowledge to automate test executions using bash scripts.
  • Expert use of GDB debugger and oscilloscope for analyzing waveforms and debugging.
  • Proactiveness and positive attitude.
  • Effective communication skills to frame a problem statement and explain issues or resolutions for debugging.

Bachelor s degree + >10 yrs of experience (or) Master s degree with >7 yrs of experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or equivalent.
