Job Title: General Manager Manufacturing

Position Overview:

This leadership role oversees the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing facility, ensuring efficient production, effective supply chain management, and adherence to quality standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead cross-functional teams to drive end-to-end operations across production, purchasing, stores, and planning.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to meet business objectives, focusing on safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Establish and enforce manufacturing standards, processes, and controls to ensure continuous improvement.

Supply Chain & Procurement Management:

  • Manage procurement and vendor relationships for raw materials, consumables, and bought-out goods.
  • Implement robust sourcing strategies to meet cost, quality, and lead-time targets.
  • Collaborate with stores and planning teams to optimize inventory levels and reduce excess stock.

Production Planning & Control:

  • Develop and coordinate monthly and weekly production schedules based on sales forecasts and available resources.
  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams for timely material availability and production readiness.
  • Monitor production progress and identify opportunities for improvement.

Quality & Compliance:

  • Oversee quality assurance processes, audits, and corrective actions to ensure compliance with company and statutory standards.
  • Ensure all products meet required quality standards through regular monitoring and feedback.
  • Work with internal teams to identify areas for improvement and implement changes.

Strategic Operations & Continuous Improvement:

  • Champion lean manufacturing initiatives and other continuous improvement programs to reduce waste and improve efficiency.
  • Develop and implement strategic operations plans in alignment with business objectives.
  • Establish performance metrics and conduct regular operational reviews to drive improvement.

Candidate Requirements:

  • 20–25 years of relevant manufacturing experience, preferably in capital equipment, machinery, or engineering industries.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with Indian labor laws, vendor ecosystems, and manufacturing best practices.
  • Hands-on experience with fabrication, machining, and machine assembly shop floors.
