Job Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Search and Licensing business vertical. As the Head of Patent Search and Licensing, you will be responsible for driving strategic growth, technical excellence, and business leadership.

This is a critical role that involves overseeing the performance, profitability, and expansion of the Search & Licensing business unit. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and execute strategies that deliver high-quality IP search, analytics, and licensing services to global clients.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IP services, with at least 10 years of experience in patent search, analytics, and/or licensing projects. They should possess excellent leadership skills, with a proven track record of managing teams and driving business results.

A bachelor's or master's degree in engineering/technology is required, while a postgraduate qualification in Intellectual Property is preferred. The candidate should also have a deep understanding of global IP trends and market needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute strategic plans to drive business growth and improve operational efficiency.
  • Lead a team of analysts, senior searchers, and licensing professionals to deliver high-quality IP search, analytics, and licensing services.
  • Manage project pipelines, billing, and receivables to ensure revenue targets are met.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes that enhance quality and productivity.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and stakeholders to ensure client satisfaction and retention.
  • Mentor and groom high-potential team members to build a strong leadership pipeline.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's in engineering/technology on any discipline.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Intellectual Property (preferred).
  • 10 to 15 years of experience in IP services, with at least 3-5 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record in managing patent search, analytics, and/or licensing projects.
  • Global client experience across domains such as Engineering, ICT, Pharma, Life Sciences, etc.
