Intellectual Property Specialist Job Description

Job Summary:

The Intellectual Property Specialist will be responsible for providing timely IP inputs to relevant stakeholders, supporting product development, and conducting patent searches. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of patent laws in India, the US, and Europe, as well as excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide insights in patent litigation and opposition to align with product strategy in a cost-effective manner.
  • Undertake due diligence of products to apprise stakeholders about key patent rights.
  • Conduct patent searches to determine patentable inventions and file and prosecute patent applications.
  • Lead due diligence activities for products of interest to apprise stakeholders about the value proposition in acquiring/ licensing/ the product from an IP standpoint for M&A deals.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Pharmacy (B. Pharm) or Masters of Pharmacy (M. Pharm) with a Diploma in Intellectual Property Law.
  • 8 years of relevant experience in intellectual property law for B. Pharm holders or 6 years of relevant experience for M. Pharm holders.
  • Relevant techno-legal experience with respect to regulated markets.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
