Teaching in Optometry

We are seeking a dedicated Optometry Education Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering engaging lectures and creating comprehensive course material in optometry to inspire students.

  • You will assess student performance, provide constructive feedback, and guide students on academic and career paths.
  • Conduct original research, analyze data, and publish findings in reputable academic journals to advance the field of optometry.
  • Maintain expertise through ongoing professional development activities, staying current with the latest advancements in optometry.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, participate in departmental initiatives, and contribute to the academic community by sharing knowledge and best practices.
  • Supervise laboratory sessions and clinical practice, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards to maintain the highest quality education.
  • Foster partnerships with the broader community through outreach and public education programs to promote awareness and understanding of optometric care.

Qualifications:

A Ph.D. in Optometry (OD) from an accredited institution is required.

An active optometry license in the relevant state or jurisdiction is necessary.

Demonstrated experience in teaching at the university level is essential.

A strong record of scholarly research and publications in optometric fields is preferred.

Desirable: Experience in leadership roles, involvement in professional organizations, and expertise in specific areas of optometry, such as ocular disease or pediatrics.
