Enterprise Data Governance Specialist

We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented Enterprise Data Governance Specialist to manage the development and execution of enterprise-wide data governance initiatives. This role will be instrumental in ensuring that data is managed as a strategic asset, supporting compliance, quality, and ethical data use across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:Data Ownership & Stewardship
  • Establish clear roles and responsibilities for data owners and stewards across business units, collaborating with extended teams and leadership to create program awareness and drive issue resolution/escalation.
  • Facilitate cross-functional stewardship programs and councils to ensure accountability for authoritative data sources, data quality, accuracy, lineage, compliance; maintain and enhance associated KPIs.
Data Quality & Integrity Initiatives
  • Develop and implement data quality standards, validation rules, and monitoring processes.
  • Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to remediate data issues and improve trust in enterprise data assets.
Data Classification & Protection Efforts
  • Direct the classification of data assets based on sensitivity, regulatory impact, and business value.
  • Partner with Privacy, Security, and Legal teams to ensure appropriate controls are applied to sensitive and regulated data.
Governance Policies & Compliance Frameworks
  • Author and maintain data governance policies, standards, and procedures aligned with regulations.
  • Ensure governance practices support audit readiness and compliance across jurisdictions.
Implementation of Data Governance Technology Systems and Processes
  • Include considerations for metadata management, data lineage, and monitoring tools.
