Job Description

The successful candidate will oversee the creation, installation and management of our databases.

As a senior database administrator, you will be responsible for provisioning, maintaining and scaling our most critical data storage and intelligence platforms.

You will build, maintain and scale production services and server farms across multiple global data centers and public cloud providers.

  • Collaborate with other team members to manage both production SQL-based and Cassandra/NoSQL databases.
  • Manage high-transaction-rate databases including configuration, administration, monitoring, security management, performance optimization, replication, troubleshooting and backup of traditional SQL databases (MySQL/Percona) and NoSQL databases (Cassandra/MongoDB).
  • Install, configure and upgrade nodes in customer production clusters.
  • Ensure proper monitoring, alerting, capacity planning and reporting in the production environment.
  • Develop processes, tools and documentation in support of production operations.

Key requirements include 7+ years of experience in designing, maintaining and administering NoSQL databases (Cassandra, MongoDB), 6+ years of experience in designing, maintaining and administering traditional SQL-based databases (MySQL, MariaDB, Percona), and excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  1. Designing, implementing and managing databases across multiple global data centers and public cloud providers.
  2. Providing ongoing database administration and technical support to ensure optimal performance and availability.
  3. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to develop and implement database solutions that meet business needs.

Key Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following qualifications:

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in designing, maintaining and administering NoSQL databases (Cassandra, MongoDB).
  • 6+ years of relevant experience in designing, maintaining and administering traditional SQL-based databases (MySQL, MariaDB, Percona).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
