Sustainability and Compliance Specialist

Job Description:

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in supporting the growth of our activities in India, focusing on strengthening our support to upstream supply chain actors located in Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh. This involves collaborating with processors and mine owners to establish gap assessments against our Global Workplace Standard (GWS) and co-designing corrective action plans.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish gap assessments of India mica processors and mines versus RMI's Global Workplace Standard (GWS)
  • Support processors and mine owners in implementing corrective action plans, closely following up on progress regarding compliance with regards to RMI workplace and due diligence standards
  • Coordinate collective third-party audit protocol for RMI members, in collaboration with RMI's Executive team
  • Liaise with RMI-accredited external auditing companies on a regular basis
  • Develop training content for auditors on RMI standards and conduct online or face-to-face training sessions
  • Perform quality checks on audit reports and analyze data to build presentations for team and members
  • Support the Workplace Standard and Sustainability Manager in Jharkhand if needed, and share law updates with the team

District Level Advocacy in Rajasthan:

  • Build and maintain a network with local district governmental officers/authorities, regularly updating this network with RMI's progress, planned activities, and challenges

Requirements:

This position requires strong social and environmental auditing expertise, exceptional coordination, monitoring, and interpersonal skills to be part of RMI's Executive Team. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of sustainability principles, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
