Pharmacy Operations Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Operations Manager to oversee the smooth functioning of our hospital pharmacy operations. This role will involve ensuring procurement, inventory management, and distribution processes are efficient and compliant with regulatory requirements.
About the RoleThis is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care. As Pharmacy Operations Manager, you will be responsible for supervising day-to-day pharmacy operations, including dispensing, billing, and stock management. You will also monitor drug availability, ensure no stockouts, and maintain adequate levels of essential medicines.
You will work closely with the pharmacy team to implement cost control measures without compromising on quality. This will involve coordinating with vendors and suppliers for timely procurement of medicines and consumables, as well as monitoring slow-moving, near-expiry, and non-moving stocks and taking corrective action.
In addition to your operational responsibilities, you will be required to ensure compliance with Drugs & Cosmetics Act, NABH/JCI standards, and hospital policies. This will involve maintaining records of narcotics, psychotropic substances, and high-value drugs as per legal requirements, as well as ensuring prescription validation, rational drug use, and patient safety protocols.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong knowledge of hospital pharmacy operations, familiarity with NABH/JCI accreditation requirements, and good understanding of drug procurement, supply chain, and inventory management. You will also need to possess strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work cross-functionally with clinicians, nursing, and administration.
You will require a B. Pharm/M. Pharm/Pharm.D degree and at least 5-8 years of hospital pharmacy experience, with at least 5 years in a supervisory/managerial role. You must also be a registered pharmacist with the State Pharmacy Council.
