Job Title: Lead Electrical Design Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled electrical design engineer to lead our team in delivering high-quality designs for railway stations and other railway buildings. The successful candidate will have a strong background in electrical engineering, excellent communication skills, and the ability to motivate and guide a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical systems for railway stations, including low voltage reticulation and distribution systems, general lighting systems, and emergency lighting systems.
  • Lead a team of designers and modellers to ensure that projects are delivered on time and to budget.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure that electrical designs are compatible with other disciplines involved in the project.
  • Develop and implement a health and motivating work environment and atmosphere within the team.
  • Evaluate team progress, identify areas for improvement, and resolve conflicts.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • At least 12 years' experience in electrical design, preferably in a rail station environment.
  • Qualifications meeting the requirements for Chartership with a UK Engineering Institution.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of Network Rail, TfL & LUL standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving, and originality.
