The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of the U.S. freight market and proven expertise in load booking, driver coordination, negotiation with brokers, and ensuring high efficiency in routing and documentation.
Key Responsibilities:- Load Booking & Negotiation
- Search and book freight loads via load boards such as DAT or direct broker contacts.
- Negotiate best possible rates with brokers and shippers.
- Ensure high-profit margins for carriers by choosing optimized routes and load schedules.
- Assign and dispatch loads to drivers across different U.S. regions.
- Monitor load status from pickup to delivery and update stakeholders.
- Communicate with drivers regularly to manage delays, breakdowns, or reroutes.
- Maintain up-to-date records including rate confirmations, BOLs, PODs, and driver logs.
- Ensure all dispatch activities are compliant with DOT and FMCSA regulations.
- Plan multi-stop or long-distance routes to reduce empty miles and increase fleet efficiency.
- Track fuel consumption, driver hours, and HOS (Hours of Service) compliance.
- Maintain professional relationships with brokers, shippers, and logistics contacts.
- Provide timely updates to clients and resolve service-related issues.
