Senior Engineering Operations Manager

We are seeking an experienced Senior Engineering Operations Manager to lead our Ship Construction Site (SCS) team. This individual will oversee all operations, ensuring timely and high-quality project delivery while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.

This position offers a unique opportunity to work with a long-established engineering and project-oriented conglomerate with diverse businesses across multiple sectors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversight of shipbuilding, repair, engineering, outfitting, trials, and commissioning operations.
  • Management and mentorship of department heads across core functions: engineering, outfitting, electrical, hull, commissioning, and dock operations.
  • Planning, execution, and monitoring of shipbuilding and repair projects from start to finish, achieving set milestones and deadlines.
  • Cross-functional coordination to ensure effective resource allocation, material management, and manpower utilization.
  • Ensuring compliance with safety and environmental regulations (ISO 9001, ISO 45001, ISO 14001), conducting audits and mitigating risks.
  • Maintenance of strict financial controls, tracking site expenditures, and implementing cost-saving measures.
  • Promotion of quality standards throughout all processes, resolving issues promptly to minimize rework.
  • Fostering a culture of continuous improvement, identifying and implementing process enhancements.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, marine, industrial engineering, or a related field; a master's degree or certifications like PMP or Six Sigma are advantageous.
  • A minimum of 15-20 years' experience in shipbuilding or engineering project management, with at least 5 years in senior management roles.
  • Demonstrated track record of leading large, complex engineering operations and multi-disciplinary teams.
  • In-depth knowledge of shipyard processes (fabrication, fitting, outfitting, commissioning).
  • Exceptional project management, team leadership, quality assurance, and financial oversight skills.
  • Familiarity with ERP/project management software and MS Office.
Desirable Qualifications:
  • Experience working with industry regulators and classification agencies.
  • Strong team leadership and communication abilities.
