Financial Operations Lead: Key Responsibilities

  • Timely and Accurate Financial Reporting

The primary responsibility of this role is to ensure accurate financial records, timely reporting, and adherence to regulatory policies.

To achieve this goal, the Financial Operations Lead will be responsible for managing monthly, quarterly, and annual book closures, preparing and analyzing financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the general ledger and sub-ledgers.

  • Audit Coordination

The ideal candidate should have experience in coordinating statutory and internal audits, working with external auditors, internal auditors, and stakeholders. A strong understanding of audit processes and regulatory compliance is essential for success in this role.

Compliance and Regulatory Requirements

  • Statutory Compliance

The Financial Operations Lead must ensure compliance with statutory requirements, including Companies Act, GST, Income Tax, TDS, and other local laws. This involves preparing and filing required financial documents, returns, and reports with regulatory bodies.

  • Internal Controls and Process Improvement

This role requires developing, implementing, and monitoring internal controls for financial closure, ensuring process compliance, identifying gaps in existing processes, and driving automation and efficiency improvements.

Budgeting and Forecasting Support

  • Annual Budgets and Forecasts

The Financial Operations Lead will assist the CFO in preparing annual budgets, forecasts, and financial planning, analyzing variances, and providing insights for cost control and performance improvement.

  • Team Leadership

This role requires leading and mentoring the finance team across accounting, payables, receivables, and taxation, fostering a culture of accuracy, discipline, and continuous improvement in the finance function.

Requirements:

Education and Experience

  • CA/CPA/CMA

A degree in Accounting or a related field is required, along with 7-12 years of progressive experience in financial accounting, reporting, and audit coordination in manufacturing entities. Experience in ERP systems is preferred.

  • Skills and Competencies

The ideal candidate should possess strong technical knowledge of accounting principles and standards, excellent communication skills, stakeholder management, and team leadership abilities, as well as analytical thinking and attention to detail.
