DB2 Administrator Job Description

We are seeking an experienced DB2 administrator to manage our database systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Database Administration: Install, configure and maintain DB2 database systems on Linux/Unix platforms.
  • HADR Configuration: Design and implement HADR configurations for high availability and data consistency.
  • Backup and Restore: Develop backup and restore strategies to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Performance Tuning: Analyze and optimize database performance to improve query execution times.
  • Data Movement Utilities: Utilize tools like db2move and db2getpkg to transfer data between databases.
  • Security: Grant permissions to users and groups while maintaining a secure environment.
  • Maintenance and Monitoring: Perform regular maintenance tasks like index creation and database health checks.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in DB2 administration with expertise in HADR configuration, backup and restore strategies, and performance tuning.
  • Strong knowledge of DB2 architecture and ability to design complex database solutions.
  • Experience with data movement utilities and security best practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities and deadlines.
