Job Overview

We are looking for talented individuals to join our team and help us build innovative financial products. Our mission is to improve access and value for millions of underserved banking customers across Africa and India.

As a Backend Engineer, you will play a key role in building out APIs and backend systems for our frontend clients, including our Android mobile app. You will also integrate with various third-party systems, including payment systems, identity providers, and messaging platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and implementing scalable backend services to meet the needs of our growing user base.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize technical requirements.
  • Developing and maintaining high-quality code that meets our standards for reliability, performance, and security.

Requirements:

  • 3-8 years of experience in building backend software for web-based or mobile products.
  • Strong knowledge of software development fundamentals, including relevant background in computer science fundamentals, distributed systems, data storage, and agile development methodologies.
  • Pragmatic problem-solving skills, combining strong understanding of technology and product needs.
  • Excellent collaborator & communicator, with experience working in distributed teams.
