Our organization is dedicated to enhancing access to financial services for underserved customers. We're looking for a skilled Backend Engineer to join our team in India.

About the Role

This key member of our engineering team will collaborate with Product and Data Science teams to design and maintain multiple technologies, including API backend, credit scoring and underwriting systems, payments integrations, and operations tools.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop APIs and backend systems for frontend clients, including Android mobile app.
  • Integrate with various third-party systems, including payment systems, identity providers, and messaging platforms.
  • Contribute to building new financial products.
  • Scale backend services to ever-growing levels of traffic and complexity.
Requirements
  • Strong experience (3-8 years) in building backend software for web-based or mobile products.
  • Experience leveraging modern AI tools for efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Strong knowledge of software development fundamentals, including computer science fundamentals, distributed systems, data storage, and agile development methodologies.
  • Ability to combine technical expertise with product needs to find optimal solutions.
  • Highly entrepreneurial mindset and ability to take ownership of impact.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language like Python.
