Key Responsibilities

As a skilled professional, you will perform a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our database systems. This includes:

  • Installing, configuring, and upgrading MySQL databases, as well as setting up and monitoring replication.
  • Identifying and resolving issues with metadata locks, slow queries, and replication lag, and optimizing database performance for seamless data processing.
  • Managing Linux servers by handling user permissions, process monitoring, cron jobs, package updates, and system resource checks to maintain a stable environment.
  • Implementing and monitoring backup and recovery processes using tools like mysqldump or Percona XtraBackup to prevent data loss in case of an unexpected event.
  • Performing routine patching, upgrades, and security hardening for MySQL and Linux environments to ensure they are up-to-date and secure against potential threats.
  • Troubleshooting and resolving Level 2 support tickets, escalating complex issues to Level 3 with proper root cause analysis inputs to ensure timely resolution.
  • Participating in disaster recovery drills, capacity planning, and system audits to identify areas for improvement and optimize our infrastructure.
  • Creating and maintaining runbooks, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base documentation to facilitate knowledge sharing and smooth onboarding of new team members.
