Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Design Manager to lead our HVAC design team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical engineering and experience with designing complex HVAC systems for high-rise residential, commercial, and hospitality projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • ASHRAE/ISHRAE standards knowledge and ability to design HVAC systems that meet these requirements.
  • Sole design responsibility of HVAC systems for projects, including calculating heating and cooling needs, designing systems, and proposing new products and technologies.
  • Techno-commercial evaluation of various options and recommendation.
  • Proposal of energy-saving and environmentally friendly designs and products.
  • Ventilation requirements calculation and determination of budgetary costs for heating and cooling systems.
  • Coordination and collaboration with architects and other discipline engineers when designing heating and cooling systems.
  • Study and understanding of architectural and structural drawings.
  • Detailed input provision to junior engineers for quality drawing preparation.
  • Progress and quality monitoring of drawings until the GFC stage.
  • Document preparation for sanction purposes as per codes and local norms.
  • Design review meeting attendance and obtaining sign-off on concept designs before proceeding to detail design.
  • Preparation of design brief reports and detail designs as per approved concepts and schemes.
  • Drawings checking along with checklists and submitting drawings as per commitments.
  • HVAC duct routes and equipment layouts preparation in Revit/BIM, detailing of duct routes, BOM preparation, and all HVAC drawings preparation using Revit/BIM software.
  • BOQ/estimate/technical specification/approved make preparation along with takeoff sheets.
  • Tender drawings, specifications, BOM preparation for floating tenders, technical evaluation of tenders, and rating/recommendation of vendors.
  • Quality checks and inspections conducting at site during different stages of construction and LEED/IGBC certification obtaining for buildings.
  • Shop drawings and technical data sheets review and documentation maintenance of all design materials and drawings.
  • Handing over inspection as per requirements and specialized software usage to create design and drawings of products.
  • Equipment manuals/maintenance booklets preparation for site teams and As-Built drawings development with in-house teams.

Additional responsibilities include test report evaluation, construction of HVAC systems oversight, equipment and material submittals review, assistance and resolution of HVAC issues during/after construction, construction visits completion, and addressing issues with regard to HVAC systems.

Last but not least, ensuring compliance with project timelines, communication and coordination with teams and departments to aid in architectural and engineering design, and engagement with other teams during the design and construction period.
