Job Title: Cloud Storage Systems Engineer
Job Description

At our company, we are on a mission to revolutionize cloud storage by providing an automated solution that optimizes disk utilization and reduces costs. We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Storage Systems Engineer to join our team and contribute to this exciting project.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing and implementing cloud storage systems, as well as expertise in testing and debugging complex storage technologies. They will be responsible for developing and maintaining our cloud storage platform, ensuring its scalability, reliability, and performance.

In addition to technical expertise, the successful candidate will possess excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders. They will also be passionate about innovation and continuous learning, with a desire to stay up-to-date with the latest developments in cloud storage technology.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in designing and implementing cloud storage systems
  • Extensive knowledge of Linux/Windows storage stacks and benchmarking tools (fio, vdbench)
  • Strong scripting (Java/Python/Bash/Go) and test automation experience
  • Familiarity with kernel debugging (strace, eBPF, WinDbg)
  • Experience with cloud storage platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP)

What You'll Need To Do
  1. Break things creatively: Design tests that expose weaknesses in storage tiering, kernel interactions, and edge cases
  2. Find flaws early: Shift-left testing through fault injection, fuzzing, and adversarial approaches
  3. Automate the chaos: Build test frameworks to simulate filesystem corruption, kernel panics, and recovery scenarios
  4. Push systems to fail: Artificially induce I/O storms, memory leaks, and resource starvation
  5. Debug deep: Solve complex issues at the kernel, filesystem, and block device layers
  6. Lead quality culture: Mentor engineers in defensive thinking with focus on NFRs and establish CI/CD pipelines
