  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining Mainframe storage subsystems ensures compatibility, performance, and reliability.
  • Storage capacity planning and provisioning meet current and future storage requirements.
  • Managing storage management software and utilities automates administration tasks and improves operational efficiency.
  • Monitoring storage performance and resource utilization identifies bottlenecks and optimizes data placement.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Implementing disaster recovery and data replication solutions for Mainframe storage systems.
  • Collaborating with system administrators, database administrators, and application teams to support data backup and recovery operations and data migration projects.
  • Developing and maintaining documentation, procedures, and standards for storage administration tasks.
  • Providing technical support and assistance to internal teams and end-users, troubleshooting and resolving storage-related issues.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, and/or equivalent military experience.
  • 8+ years of experience in Mainframe storage subsystems, architecture, and management.
  • 8+ years of experience with storage management software and utilities such as DFSMS, DFSMSdss, and DFSMSrmm.
  • 8+ years of experience with storage virtualization technologies and concepts, including DASD, VTS, and SAN/NAS storage provisioning.
  • 8+ years of experience with storage networking protocols and technologies, such as FICON, Fibre Channel, and SCSI.
