Job Description:

The Sports Program Manager will oversee the development and implementation of sports programs, physical education initiatives, and wellness activities across the institution. The role involves managing sports infrastructure, promoting student and staff participation in sports, and ensuring compliance with national and international sports standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the overall vision, strategy, and policies for the sports department.
  • Oversee sports programs, inter-collegiate tournaments, training camps, and physical education curriculum.
  • Manage sports facilities, gymnasiums, and grounds, ensuring proper maintenance and utilization.
  • Identify, recruit, and mentor talented athletes to represent the institution at various levels.
  • Collaborate with coaches, trainers, and faculty to promote a culture of fitness and sportsmanship.
  • Organize workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns on health, fitness, and sports.
  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of sports coaches and staff.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote ethical sports practices.
  • Formulate and implement sports and physical education policies as per UGC/AIU norms.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Ph.D. in Physical Education, Sports Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in sports administration, coaching, or sports management.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale sports events and teams.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of modern training methods, sports technology, and performance analytics.
  • Record of having represented the university/college at inter-university / inter-collegiate competitions or the State and/or National championships.
