The goal of our team is to foster a data-driven culture, encourage and enable Azure customers and partners to make more informed decisions through data, and develop and operationalize high-scale data platforms that enable Microsoft customers to realize and manage cloud costs and partner teams to operationalize their goals.

As part of this work, you will lead a strong and experienced engineering team to architect and drive data solutions, working directly with engineering counterparts and assorted business teams to influence how Azure products, services, and business plans within C+E are operationalized and monetized.

This is a leadership role that requires 2+ years of people management experience and 8+ years of programming experience in C# or Java or equivalent object-oriented programming. You should have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent industry experience.

You will be responsible for leading and delivering projects that span multiple engineering organizations, including experience in implementing mission-critical big data workloads on Open Source Big Data Stack such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, HBase, etc., implementation of distributed systems, implementation of message-based architecture, and high-scale OLTP or OLAP storage implementations.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $175,000 per year, considering the location options of Atlanta, Charlotte, Houston, or Redmond. The role also offers remote work options and supports employees in all locations around the country.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of people management experience
  • 8+ years of programming experience in C# OR Java OR equivalent object-oriented programming
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or related field, OR equivalent industry experience
  • Strong technical expertise, met by proficiency in implementing 2 or more of the following areas:
    • 4+ years building and running high-scale services
    • Mission critical big data workloads on Open Source Big Data Stack such as Hadoop, Hive, Spark, HBase, etc.
    • Implementation of Distributed Systems
    • Implementation of Message-based architecture
    • High-scale OLTP or OLAP storage implementations
  • Experience leading and delivering projects that span multiple engineering organizations

Benefits and Requirements

This role requires ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements, which include passing the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
