**Job Overview**
We are seeking a highly motivated Data Science Leader with a proven track record of developing threat detection algorithms. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the entire machine learning life cycle, from data acquisition and feature engineering to model evaluation and monitoring.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Translating applied research into practical technologies.
- Cybersecurity expertise in malware detection, fraud prevention, adversary tradecrafts, and emerging threats.
- Designing, developing, and implementing scalable data pipelines using Spark/PySpark and big data frameworks to ingest, transform, and load data.
- Optimizing and troubleshooting complex queries for efficient data retrieval and performance.
- Deploying AI-ML models across diverse data sources to extract valuable insights.
- Familiarity with modern tools for data exploration and analysis.
- Collaborating with data scientists, analysts, and stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into actionable data solutions.
- Documenting code and processes for clarity and knowledge transfer.
**Requirements**
- Bachelor's/Master's degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field (a plus).
- At least 7 years of experience working in query tuning, performance tuning, implementing and debugging Spark/Pyspark and other big data solutions.
- Experience with anomaly detection, clustering statistics, time series analysis, reinforcement learning, generative AI/agentic frameworks, large language models.
- Cloud platforms like AWS or GCP and containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
**Estimated Salary: $180,000 - $220,000 per year**, depending on experience and qualifications. This figure is based on market trends and expectations for a senior data science role in the Boston area.
