Deepspatial is seeking a seasoned Data Science and Engineering Leader to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing our MongoDB databases hosted on Atlas, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.

This position requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, as well as excellent communication and teamwork abilities. You will be working independently and managing multiple tasks effectively, with a commitment to delivering high-quality work.

We are looking for someone with 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience, particularly in MongoDB Database Administration and Node.js development. A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required. Additionally, experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure Cloud) and containerization (Docker) is a plus.

Main Responsibilities
  • Data Management:
    • Administer MongoDB Atlas clusters, ensuring optimal performance, availability, and security.
    • Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues, implementing improvements as necessary.
    • Perform regular backups and disaster recovery planning.
  • Development Support:
    • Collaborate with development teams to design and implement database schemas and queries.
    • Develop and maintain Node.js applications that interact with MongoDB databases.
    • Create and manage APIs for database access and manipulation.
  • Data Integrity and Security:
    • Implement and enforce data security measures and access controls.
    • Ensure compliance with data governance and privacy regulations.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    • Maintain comprehensive documentation for database architecture, processes, and configurations.
    • Generate reports on database performance and usage metrics.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience.
  • Proven experience as a MongoDB Database Administrator particularly with MongoDB Atlas & MySQL.
  • Strong proficiency in Node.js development, including experience with Express.js and RESTful APIs.
  • Solid understanding of database design principles, indexing, and performance optimization techniques.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git) and collaborative development workflows.
  • Knowledge of data modeling and database architecture best practices.
Estimated Salary: $80,000 - $110,000 per year
