System Specialist Job Opportunity

Our organization seeks a skilled and experienced system specialist to lead and manage our virtualized infrastructure. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining server security and compliance standards, contributing to infrastructure design and architecture planning, implementing automation using PowerShell, Python, or Ansible, monitoring systems and proactively addressing performance bottlenecks, collaborating with service owners and lead providers to evolve service offerings in line with business needs, ensuring scalability, reliability, and resilience.

Responsibilities include owning the day-to-day operations and strategic evolution of VMware infrastructure, including VMware ESXi, vSAN, vCenter, Nutanix, and Dell VxRail platforms, leading or contributing to Root Cause Analysis (RCA) efforts for critical incidents, contributing to the design and execution of DR plans and high availability configurations, testing and documenting failover strategies, and collaborating with multi-functional teams on infrastructure needs.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree with 8+ years of experience or a master's degree with 6+ years of experience in a relevant field. They will also possess expertise in performance tuning, capacity planning, and HA/DR configurations, as well as hands-on expertise in scripting and automation tools.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • VMware certifications (VCP, VCAP, or equivalent)
  • Proven track record managing complex virtual infrastructure
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and regulated environments
  • Exceptional troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
  • Hands-on expertise in scripting and automation tools
