Virtualization Engineer

We are seeking a seasoned Virtualization Engineer to lead the design, implementation and management of our enterprise-grade virtualization platforms.

  • Main Responsibilities:
  • Install, configure and manage leading virtualization platforms including VMware vSphere/ESXi, KVM, Hyper-V, Xen and OpenStack.
  • Deploy and administer Linux servers in virtualized and bare-metal environments with strong expertise in RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu or SUSE.
  • Design and implement highly available, scalable and secure virtual infrastructure.
  • Manage storage integration with SAN, NAS, iSCSI, NFS and virtual platforms.
  • Monitor, optimize and troubleshoot virtual machines, hosts and clusters.
  • Automate provisioning and configuration using tools like Ansible, Puppet or Terraform.
  • Implement backup, recovery and disaster recovery strategies for virtualized workloads.
  • Collaborate with application, network and security teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
  • Maintain system documentation and provide level 2 and level 3 support.
  • Stay updated on virtualization and Linux technology trends and apply best practices.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • Virtualization Platforms:
  • Proficiency in VMware vSphere/ESXi, KVM, Hyper-V, Xen and OpenStack.
  • Linux Administration:
  • Strong experience with RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu or SUSE.
  • Scripting & Automation:
  • Familiarity with Bash, Python, Ansible or similar tools.
  • Storage & Backup:
  • Knowledge of vSAN, vVols, NFS, iSCSI and Veeam or similar backup tools.
  • Networking:
  • VLANs, virtual switches, load balancing and firewalls in virtualized environments.
  • Performance Tuning:
  • VM sizing, CPU/memory/storage optimization and kernel tuning.
  • Troubleshooting:
  • Strong problem-solving skills in complex multi-vendor environments.
  • Certifications (preferred):
  • RHCSA/RHCE, VCP, Red Hat Virtualization or equivalent.
