Senior Contract & Legal Professional

We are seeking a seasoned contract and legal professional with deep expertise in international arbitration, contract management, and operational risk mitigation within the manufacturing sector. The ideal candidate will bring strategic legal insight, negotiation prowess, and a proven track record of handling complex claims and contractual matters across global operations.

The successful individual will lead and manage international arbitration proceedings, ensuring alignment with global legal standards and corporate interests. They will draft, review, and negotiate high-value commercial contracts, vetting them from a legal and risk perspective to ensure compliance and enforceability.

Responsibilities include reviewing and managing legal claims, including vessel claims and operational disputes. This involves analysing potential liabilities and implementing strategies for cost reduction and risk mitigation. Additionally, they will provide legal support in procurement-related claims and negotiations.

The Senior Contract & Legal Professional will oversee litigation matters, coordinate with external counsel, and represent the company in legal forums. They will develop and execute strategies to resolve disputes efficiently and favourably.

Requirements
  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law (LLB/LLM) from a recognised institution is essential.
  • Minimum 12–15 years of post-qualification experience, preferably in a large, listed manufacturing company.
  • Strong understanding of international arbitration, maritime claims, INCO terms, and commercial law is required.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex negotiations and legal risk in a dynamic business environment is crucial.
