This is a challenging role that requires strong technical skills and experience in geotechnical engineering.
- Evaluates, selects, and applies standard geotechnical engineering methods to prepare specifications for subsurface investigations for new and existing facilities.
- Provides oversight of geotechnical analyses such as stability of soil and rock slopes, rock excavation and slope protection, bearing capacity and settlement of shallow foundations, lateral earth pressures, and axial and lateral pile capacities.
- Coordinates civil or structural engineering designs with geotechnical assessments.
- Conducts review of geotechnical interpretative reports and works with geotechnical consultants to produce high-quality coordinated submissions.
- M.S. degree in Geotechnical Engineering from an accredited university and minimum 8 years of progressive related experience.
- Or Ph.D. in Geotechnical Engineering and minimum 6 years of progressive related experience.
- Advanced expertise in geotechnical engineering design principles.
- Understanding of site and subsurface investigations, foundation design, earthwork, and slope stability analysis, and construction dewatering.
- Experience in large industrial projects, specializing in design and construction within soft soil environments and ground improvement techniques.
