Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced SCADA Engineer to lead the design configuration and deployment of Ignition SCADA and MES applications across manufacturing operations. The successful candidate will architect and implement real-time data acquisition visualization and reporting solutions, ensuring seamless integration of OT systems with enterprise IT systems.

The ideal candidate will have proven expertise with Ignition SCADA Inductive Automation, including scripting module configuration and project deployment. They will also have strong background in MES functions production tracking OEE downtime analysis traceability SPC etc.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead design configuration and deployment of Ignition SCADA and MES applications
  • Architect and implement real-time data acquisition visualization and reporting solutions
  • Ensure seamless integration of OT systems with enterprise IT systems
  • Develop and maintain secure efficient data exchange using REST APIs MQTT and OPC UA protocols
  • Manage industrial databases SQL historian timeseries databases for high availability and performance
  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to align system capabilities with production and business needs
  • Provide technical leadership in digital transformation initiatives such as Industry 40 smart manufacturing and predictive analytics
  • Troubleshoot optimize and support existing SCADAMES deployments to ensure minimal downtime
  • Mentor junior engineers and support knowledge sharing across the engineering team
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Technical Requirements:
  • Proven expertise with Ignition SCADA Inductive Automation including scripting module configuration and project deployment
  • Strong background in MES functions production tracking OEE downtime analysis traceability SPC etc
  • Proficiency with database technologies SQL Server MySQL PostgreSQL or equivalent
  • Hands-on experience with OTIT integration technologies
  • REST APIs for system interconnectivity
  • MQTT for IIoT messaging and lightweight communication
  • OPC UA for industrial interoperability
  • Strong knowledge of industrial control systems PLC SCADA HMIs and plant floor connectivity
  • Familiarity with manufacturing standards ISA95 ISA88 ISA99 IEC 62443
  • Experience with cloud-based IIoT platforms Azure IoT AWS IoT etc
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity best practices in OT environments
  • Familiarity with containerization Docker Kubernetes for SCADAMES deployments
  • Experience in working on large-scale digital transformation Industry 40 projects
  • Certifications Ignition Gold Certified Specialist OPC UA or relevant industrial ITOT certifications
