Your role in our organization involves:

  • Working independently and as part of a collaborative team to deliver creative solutions
  • Publishing detailed calculations, models, reports, and presentations that meet the highest standards of quality, timeliness, and budget efficiency
  • Sharing your work with senior colleagues for review and evaluating the work of others to ensure quality assurance
  • Presenting your designs at internal workshops and chairing external meetings with clients and consultants when necessary
  • Leading teams by making timely decisions and taking corrective action while fostering an atmosphere that delivers exceptional work results
  • Collaborating with external clients and identifying opportunities to engage other internal discipline designers
  • Informing colleagues of design decisions to ensure alignment with company objectives and client goals
  • Preparing fee proposals or bids and competition designs in collaboration with senior colleagues
  • Coordinating your work with other project team members and contributing to internal technical development aligned with company strategy
  • Mentoring and assisting Graduates and less experienced Engineers while maintaining your continued professional development, particularly in line management and chartership
  • Nurturing and maintaining an extensive network both internally and externally

Your Key Skills & Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated expertise in building structures design for residential and commercial projects
  • A minimum of 10-15 years of experience as a lead structural engineer on major projects
  • Broad knowledge of design principles, acquired through working on a diverse range of projects and applying various codes of practice (British, US, European)
  • Proficiency in commonly used analysis software (e.g., CSC Fastrak, TEDDS, ROBOT, ETABS, SAFE) and willingness to quickly adapt to new software packages as required
  • Status as a Chartered Member of the ICE or IStructE with the Engineering Council UK or equivalent body
  • Hold a Master's degree (MTech/MSc) in a structural discipline
