Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Structural Engineer to join our team. As a key member of the engineering department, you will be responsible for providing creative solutions to complex structural design problems.

The successful candidate will have extensive experience in residential and commercial project design, as well as strong leadership skills to lead teams and make timely decisions.

You will work closely with external clients and internal discipline designers to engage opportunities and deliver high-quality projects on time.

  • Develop and implement structural design solutions for residential and commercial projects.
  • Lead teams by making timely decisions and corrective action while creating an atmosphere that delivers excellent work.
  • Collaborate with external clients and internal discipline designers to engage opportunities.
  • Inform colleagues of design decisions to ensure the objectives of the company and the client are achieved.
  • Prepare fee proposals or bids and competition designs while working alongside senior colleagues.
  • Mentor and assist Graduates and less experienced Engineers while maintaining continued professional development.
Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Extensive building structures design experience in residential and commercial projects.
  • 10-15 years of experience as a lead structural engineer on major projects.
  • Broad design knowledge, from working on a wide range of projects and using British, US and European codes of practice.
  • Experience using common analysis software such as CSC Fastrak, TEDDS, ROBOT, ETABS and SAFE.
  • Be a Chartered Member of the ICE or IStructE with the Engineering Council UK or equivalent body.
  • Master's degree MTech / MSc in structural discipline.
