About Role

The ideal person for this role will have experience and skills necessary for optimizing our tech architecture.

Our tech stack comprises:

  • Over 120 high-traffic eCommerce websites serving customers around the world
  • Business analytics determining product and catalog selection, customer growth and retention
  • ERP software managing global operations
  • Software allowing us to crawl across product listings at scale
  • Modules across all functions - including marketing, logistics, customer support, finance etc.
  • Modules supporting workflow, dashboards and reporting processes for all divisions

We are looking for an analytical, results-driven back-end developer who will work with team members to troubleshoot and improve current back-end applications and processes.

You should have excellent communication, computer, and project management skills. To succeed as a backend developer, you should be focused on building a better, more efficient program and creating a better end-user experience. You should be knowledgeable, collaborative, and motivated.

Responsibilities:

  1. Compile and analyze data, processes, and code to troubleshoot problems and identify areas for improvement.
  2. Collaborate with front-end developers and other team members to establish objectives and design functional, cohesive code to enhance user experience.
  3. Develop ideas for new programs, products, or features by monitoring industry developments and trends.
  4. Record data and report it to proper parties, such as clients or leadership.
  5. Participate in continuing education and training to remain current on best practices, learn new programming languages, and better assist other team members.
  6. Take lead on projects, as needed.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's/Master's degree in computer programming, computer science, or a related field.
  • 10-14 years of experience with primary expertise in Ruby on Rails and familiarity with JavaScript front-end technologies.
  • Strong understanding of web development cycle and programming techniques and tools.
  • Focused on efficiency, user experience, and process improvement.
  • Excellent project and time management skills.
  • Strong problem solving and verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work independently or with a group.
