Accountant Testing Professional

This role involves ensuring the accuracy and reliability of accounting software by testing its functionality, performance, and compliance with relevant standards.

The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of accounting principles, double-entry bookkeeping, and taxation processes. They will be responsible for designing and executing test cases to validate that the software meets the required specifications.

The Accountant Testing Professional will also ensure accurate posting, balancing, and reconciliation of ledgers, as well as conduct end-to-end testing of accounting workflows, including financial reporting and statutory statements.

This is an opportunity to bridge the gap between technical testing and accounting expertise, requiring strong analytical and problem-solving skills, excellent communication skills, and attention to detail.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute test cases for accounting software
  • Perform functional, regression, and integration testing on financial modules
  • Validate double-entry bookkeeping principles are applied correctly
  • Ensure accurate posting, balancing, and reconciliation of ledgers
  • Test compliance with relevant tax rules and regulations
  • Identify, document, and track software defects
  • Collaborate with product managers, accountants, and developers
  • Conduct end-to-end testing of accounting workflows

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA/CA/ACCA certification preferred)
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles, double-entry bookkeeping, and taxation processes
  • Knowledge of taxation frameworks and familiarity with test management tools
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills to liaise between technical and non-technical teams
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy

  • Exposure to ERP or accounting systems
  • Understanding of automation testing tools
  • Experience in audit, compliance, or financial reporting
