ETL Tester Job Description

We are seeking a skilled ETL Tester to join our team.

  • The ideal candidate will have experience in testing data pipelines and ensuring their accuracy, as well as working with GCP.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

  • Understand[ing] requirements from high-level design (HLD) and low-level design (LLD) documents.
  • Understanding Hadoop/Mainframe ETL flow and preparing development and user acceptance testing environments in Teradata/Unix/Hadoop.
  • Evaluating space estimation and allocating space to Teradata DBs in system integration testing/user acceptance testing environments.
  • Forklifting seed data from production to test environment using Teradata utilities.
  • Creating forklift jobs in mainframe to move production data to mainframe files using Fast-Export Utility and NDM (copy) the data file to lower lanes in Mainframe.
  • Setting up ETL jobs in regression effort and executing flows in Autosys and Mainframe.
  • Analyzing tasks and assigning them to team members daily. Participating actively in Data Steering Unit calls and defect review meetings.
  • Preparing test cases with the help of Test Plan and reviewing with Dev team.
  • Creating effective SQL scripts to validate Change Data Capture logic in Teradata.
  • Developing automation script modules in TOSCA to execute regression scripts. Executing test scripts and uploading results to Qtest/QC.
Key Responsibilities:
  1. Data Pipeline Testing: Ensure data pipelines are accurate and functioning correctly.
  2. Hadoop/Mainframe ETL Flow: Understand and prepare development and user acceptance testing environments.
  3. Space Estimation: Evaluate space estimation and allocate space to Teradata DBs.
  4. Seed Data Migration: Forklift seed data from production to test environment.
  5. ETL Job Setup: Set up ETL jobs in regression effort and execute flows.
  6. Task Management: Analyze tasks and assign them to team members daily.
  7. Collaboration: Participate actively in Data Steering Unit calls and defect review meetings.
