Data Governance Specialist

We are seeking a strategic and detail-oriented professional to develop and execute enterprise-wide data governance initiatives.

As a Data Governance Lead, you will manage the development of data governance frameworks and processes, define data ownership and stewardship, drive data quality and integrity initiatives, and contribute to data classification and protection efforts.

  • Establish clear roles and responsibilities for data owners and stewards across business units.
  • Facilitate cross-functional stewardship programs and councils to ensure accountability for authoritative data sources, data quality, accuracy, lineage, privacy, and compliance.
  • Develop and implement data quality standards, validation rules, and monitoring processes.
  • Collaborate with data engineering and analytics teams to remediate data issues and improve trust in enterprise data assets.
  • Direct the classification of data assets based on sensitivity, regulatory impact, and business value.
  • Partner with Privacy, Security, and Legal teams to ensure appropriate controls are applied to sensitive and regulated data.
  • Author and maintain data governance policies, standards, and procedures aligned with privacy regulations.
  • Ensure governance practices support audit readiness and regulatory compliance across jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Define data governance strategies and roadmaps.
  • Develop and implement data quality metrics and reporting dashboards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in data governance, data management, or related field.
  • Proficiency in executing against well-defined procedures and processes.

Desirable Skills:

  • Foundational technical expertise in data governance and data management.
  • Ability to multitask effectively.

Working Conditions:

  • Typical office environment with minimal travel required.
