Director of Engineering Management

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly experienced and technical Director to lead our engineering teams in India. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in building distributed cloud systems with high availability and scale.

This is a key leadership role that requires strong technical expertise, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to foster a culture of accountability and high performance within the team.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and managing engineering teams, establishing and maintaining a high-tech engineering culture, and promoting innovation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Lead and manage engineering teams, fostering a culture of accountability and high performance.
  2. Establish and maintain a high-tech engineering culture, promoting innovation and continuous improvement.
  3. Attract, hire, and retain top engineering talent.
  4. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.
  5. Lead and support cross-functional teams within a specific value stream.
  6. Champion the alignment of technical and domain-specific solutions with strategic objectives.
  7. Serve as a key liaison, driving collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement across the organization.
  8. Provide strategic leadership and mentorship by guiding team members in both technical and domain areas.
  9. Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, from concept to delivery.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of experience in software engineering, including 5+ years in leadership roles.
  • Strong technical background with expertise in .Net, C#, Java, databases, AWS/Azure cloud, SaaS, Angular, and/or React, and design and architectural patterns.
  • Experience in managing and leading globally distributed engineering teams in a highly agile/scrum environment.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven ability to attract, hire, and retain top engineering talent.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make critical decisions that contribute to the success of the product.
