Automation Test Engineer Job Description

The primary function of this role is to design, implement and execute end-to-end automated testing strategies for web and backend applications.

This involves developing test automation frameworks using modern web testing tools and creating automated tests for data pipelines and ETL processes. Additionally, the candidate will be responsible for building CI/CD integration for automated test execution and mentoring team members on testing best practices and framework adoption.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Test Automation Strategy Design:
  • Develop test automation frameworks using web testing tools (e.g., Selenium, Cypress, WebdriverIO)
  • Create automated tests for data pipelines and ETL processes
  • CI/CD Integration:
  • Build CI/CD pipeline integration for automated test execution
  • Mentorship:
  • Mentor team members on testing best practices and framework adoption

Requirements

  • 5+ Years of Experience:
  • Strong experience in test automation engineering
  • Web Testing Frameworks:
  • Proficient in API testing tools (e.g., Postman/Newman, Rest Assured)
  • Experience with data pipeline testing tools (e.g., Great Expectations, Soda, DBT test)
  • Backend API Testing:
  • Strong Python skills for backend API testing
  • Database Testing:
  • Database testing experience (PostgreSQL preferred)
  • CI/CD Pipeline Integration:
  • CI/CD pipeline integration experience (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.)
