About the Position:

A forward-thinking Oracle database migration expert is required to lead large-scale migrations across various environments, ensuring seamless delivery and minimal downtime.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive migration strategies to ensure successful program execution.
  • Lead teams in assessment, planning, execution, validation, and post-migration optimization of Oracle database migrations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, plan, and execute migrations across diverse environments, including data center-to-data center, cloud setups, Exadata, and ExaCC.
  • Implement backup and recovery solutions using Rubrik and RMAN, ensuring high availability and disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Design and execute data purging and archival strategies to optimize database performance and size.
  • Document migration runbooks, rollback procedures, and knowledge transfer for efficient knowledge sharing.

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience in Oracle database administration, with 5+ years in leadership/managerial roles overseeing database migration programs.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale Oracle migrations in multi-cloud, Exadata, and ExaCC environments.
  • Strong experience with Oracle Exadata administration, migration, and performance tuning, as well as Oracle Data Guard setup and switchover.
  • Hands-on experience with cloud-native database solutions in AWS (RDS, EC2, S3) and Azure (Azure SQL, Blob Storage, Recovery Vaults).
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management skills.

  • Knowledge of GoldenGate for real-time replication.
  • Familiarity with Terraform/Ansible for infrastructure-as-code-based DB provisioning.
  • Experience in hybrid migration scenarios (on-prem to Exadata, Exadata to ExaCC, ExaCC to cloud).
