Job Title: Progress Openedge Support

We are seeking a seasoned Application Support Specialist to provide top-notch support for business-critical applications built on Progress OpenEdge.

This role involves proactively handling incidents, ensuring application stability, and collaborating closely with users and development teams.

  • Provide advanced support for applications created with Progress OpenEdge.
  • Monitor application performance and guarantee system availability.
  • Analyze and resolve complex incidents, service requests, and problem tickets within set timelines.
  • Perform in-depth root cause analysis and implement long-term fixes to recurring issues.
  • Manage batch processes, jobs, and scheduled tasks.
  • Collaborate with development teams for bug fixes, enhancements, and release deployments.
  • Support application upgrades, patches, and migration activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of issues, resolutions, and standard operating procedures.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with Progress OpenEdge (ABL/4GL) in a support environment.
  • Strong understanding of Progress Database concepts and performance troubleshooting.
  • Experience in incident management, problem management, and change management.
  • Familiarity with UNIX/Linux commands and scripting.
  • Exposure to ticketing tools (ServiceNow, JIRA, Remedy, etc.).
  • Outstanding troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of integration with APIs/web services.
  • Experience in working with global support models.
  • Basic knowledge of SDLC / Agile methodologies.
