Director of Sports

The Director - Sports is responsible for leading the planning, development, and implementation of sports programs, physical education, and wellness initiatives across the institution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop Strategy: Develop and implement the overall vision, strategy, and policies for the sports department.
  • Manage Facilities: Oversee sports programs, inter-collegiate tournaments, training camps, and physical education curriculum. Manage sports facilities, gymnasiums, and grounds, ensuring proper maintenance and utilization.
  • Mentor Athletes: Identify, recruit, and mentor talented athletes to represent the institution at various levels.
  • Cultivate Fitness: Collaborate with coaches, trainers, and faculty to promote a culture of fitness and sportsmanship.
  • Organize Events: Organize workshops, seminars, and awareness campaigns on health, fitness, and sports.
  • Evaluate Performance: Supervise and evaluate the performance of sports coaches and staff.
  • Ensure Safety: Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote ethical sports practices.
  • Formulate Policies: Formulate and implement sports and physical education policies as per UGC/AIU norms.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Ph.D. in Physical Education, Sports Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in sports administration, coaching, or sports management.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale sports events and teams.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of modern training methods, sports technology, and performance analytics.

Requirements:

  • Record of having represented the university/college at inter-university / inter-collegiate competitions or the State and/or National championships.
  • Knowledge of UGC, AIU, and national sports policies.
