Powertrain Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Powertrain Engineer to join our team.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • • Execute activities for validated release and sign-off of vehicle components and sub-systems, ensuring cross-functional representation and input from relevant areas.
  • • Package High Voltage Cables, busbar, and plastic carriers for HV & LV Battery pack.
  • • Update harness routing and Busbar based on repackaging of interface components, coordinating with system integration engineering team.
  • • Understand Energy Storage system (Battery) sizing for targeted vehicle performance.
  • • Collaborate with systems engineers to implement design changes during program development, prototype, and production build phases.
  • • Conduct stack-up analysis on designed components.
  • • Develop harness/Busbard/Cell packaging, list out issues, and drive resolution prior to validation builds.
  • • Create test cases, design rules, or requirements as needed.
  • • Benchmark and concept development.
  • • Work on QAF, RFQ, and Support Plan with suppliers/Buyer & VFM team.
  • • Create and manage DFMEA, PFMEA, BOD, BOP.
  • • Comply with Grade/EMC/Safety Compliance.
  • • Design and develop interface plastics/sheet metal components required in battery enclosure.
  • • Support part development in-house or at supplier end.
  • • Support testing of parts at supplier or in-house according to DV or PV.
  • • Participate in Supplier PPAP activities and periodic audits to improve quality and process improvements.
  • • Support builds, creating supply plans for M1/VB and production cars (Saleable vehicles).
  • • Provide engineering solutions for build issues and contain/fixed issues on current production vehicle.
  • • Support creating circuit schematics and validate circuits for full vehicle architecture.
  • • Release 3D Harness Assembly Model in PLM.
  • • Experience various change management processes like Engineering Change Requests.
  • • Select harness coverings based on 3D model routing and packaging and surrounding geometry.
  • • Develop harness packaging issues list and drive resolution prior to validation builds.

Job Requirements:
  • 4-8 years of experience in powertrain engineering.
  • Strong understanding of energy storage systems and battery technology.
  • Experience with harness routing and busbar design.
  • Knowledge of safety compliance and EMC regulations.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
