A challenging role has arisen for a Program Officer (Research), focusing on health sector initiatives.

  • The successful candidate will be responsible for developing situation assessment reports to enhance understanding of context and health indicators.
  • Conducting thematic research in various projects with supported NGOs is also expected.
  • Key responsibilities include designing and implementing research protocols, needs assessments, baseline/midline/endline studies, operational research, and evaluation across health projects.
  • Consultations with technical partners, academic institutions, and field teams are necessary for coordinated data collection and quality assurance.
  • Ensuring adherence to ethical standards and data privacy norms during data collection processes is crucial.
  • Statistical and thematic data analysis; translating findings into meaningful insights and programme recommendations is required.
  • Preparing research reports, policy briefs, white papers, and case studies for internal and external dissemination is essential.
  • Supporting proposal writing and concept note development for health research initiatives is also required.
  • Publication of research findings in peer-reviewed journals or relevant public health platforms is an added responsibility.
  • Monitoring and Evaluation:
    • Regular field visits to monitor project progress, ensure implementation aligns with approved strategies.
    • Leading the planning, execution, and monitoring of health projects at the location level.
    • Collaborating with partner organizations to ensure operationalization of projects.
    • Providing regular coordination support for day-to-day functions across projects and themes in high-pressure situations.
    • Ensuring programmes integrate other themes such as Education, Skill & Livelihoods, Environment, and Gender & Inclusion.
    • Developing comprehensive reports, best practices, and maintaining trends data of important indicators.
  • Budget Management:
    • Monitoring programme progress against programmatic and budgetary targets, adjusting as necessary.
    • Ensuring timely submission of progress reports, utilization, and ensuring approved budgets allocated to health partners are utilized accordingly.
  • Communications and Volunteer Engagement:
    • Enhancing health programme visibility through social media platforms.
    • Ensuring ethical requirements for pictures, videos, and BCC materials are met.
    • Preparing a comprehensive monthly calendar for volunteer engagement and activity implementation.
    • Maintaining and updating volunteer database and hours generated.
    • Conducting floor walks to ensure effective engagement of volunteers.
