Program Officer - Research (Health)

Job Summary:

The Program Officer – Research (Health) will play a vital role in enhancing understanding of health indicators as per the National Health Policy and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support research initiatives in various thematic areas, collaborating with NGOs.
  • Design and implement research protocols, including needs assessments, baseline/midline/endline studies, operational research, and evaluation across health projects.
  • Consult with technical partners, academic institutions, and field teams for coordinated data collection and quality assurance.
  • Oversee data collection processes, ensuring adherence to ethical standards and data privacy norms.
  • Conduct statistical and thematic data analysis; translate findings into meaningful insights and program recommendations.
  • Prepare research reports, policy briefs, white papers, and case studies for internal and external dissemination.
  • Support proposal writing and concept note development for health research initiatives.
  • Monitor and evaluate program progress, ensuring implementation aligns with approved strategies.
  • Lead the planning, execution, and monitoring of health projects at the location level.
  • Collaborate with partner organizations to ensure operationalization of projects.
  • Provide regular coordination support for day-to-day functions across projects and themes in high-pressure situations.
  • Ensure programs integrate other themes, such as Education, Skill & Livelihoods, Environment, and Gender & Inclusion.
  • Maintain comprehensive dashboards of health programs at the national and location levels.
  • Monitor program progress against both programmatic and budgetary targets, adjusting as necessary.
  • Ensure timely submission of progress reports.
