Job Overview:

As a Bakery Manager, you will be responsible for leading the pastry operation and ensuring that all baked goods are prepared to the highest standards.

  • Prepare a wide variety of baked goods following traditional and modern recipes. Assist with developing, implementing and maintaining new recipes, presentations and products.
  • Supervise the preparation and production of all baked goods. Prepare specialty baked goods for in-house and catered events.
  • Pair recommended desserts with appropriate non-alcoholic drinks etc. Control effective storage and stock levels always being cost-conscious.
  • Check the quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for baking. Analyze food costs and determine the most cost-effective recipes while maintaining quality.
  • Identify staffing needs and assist in recruiting and training personnel. Provide training and guidance to pastry staff performing related work.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead day-to-day activities, provide hands-on approach to training, planning, assigning and delegating work.
  • Encourage elevated performance, lead by example and discipline employees for purpose of improving Pastry Department's standards of excellence.
