Signal Processing Specialist

Job Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Signal Processing Specialist to design and develop high-performance digital signal processing (DSP) algorithms for FPGA implementation.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Create DSP, System and Board architecture based on customer requirements and specifications.
  • Lead project ownership from concept to delivery, including risk identification, dependency management, and project schedule tracking.
  • Partition algorithms for implementation in FPGA and/or software, identifying building blocks and signal processing functions.
  • Provide estimates on FPGA resources, computation bandwidth, and memory bandwidth.
  • Develop and maintain module-level details from architecture, coding, simulation, and peer review, applying design, verification, and validation methodologies.
  • Support customers during integration phases at test sites and provide support to production teams.

Required Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of VHDL and Xilinx tools for synthesis and implementation.
  • Thorough understanding of Xilinx FPGAs and functional simulation.
  • Hardware design expertise in logic design and debugging.
  • Experience in FPGA design, including VHDL/Verilog RTL coding, System C/System Verilog, and FPGA synthesis/PAR tools.
  • Implementing DSP algorithms in FPGA environments for radar and electronic warfare systems.
  • Modeling algorithms in Octave/MATLAB, generating test vectors, and visualizing data.
  • Working knowledge of ADCs and DACs, as well as their performance interpretation.
  • Fluency in communication and presentation skills.
  • Configuration/version control tools like SVN.
