We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented intern to join our team as a UI/UX Design Intern. This is an exciting opportunity for someone eager to build solid UX & UI skills and gain hands-on experience with design systems.

In this role, you will assist with design system maintenance, support UI production, participate in user testing, collaborate cross-functionally, and uphold accessibility standards. You will learn industry-standard tools and methods, work closely with senior designers, and contribute to the development of intuitive interfaces for our learning products.

This internship offers a unique chance to gain practical experience at the intersection of design, technology, and education. You will have the opportunity to learn directly from experienced designers, contribute to products used by thousands of engineers worldwide, and build a portfolio of real features shipped to production.

  • Responsibilities:
  • Assist with design system maintenance: Help update components, tokens, and documentation.
  • Support UI production: Create layout variations, states, and lightweight prototypes under senior direction.
  • Participate in user testing: Observe usability sessions and assist in synthesizing findings for design iterations.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally: Attend stand-ups and design critiques with product, engineering, and content teams.
  • Uphold accessibility standards: Learn principles and apply them to interface tweaks and redlines.

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing (or recently completed) a degree or certification in Design, HCI, or a related field.
  • Foundational knowledge of visual hierarchy, typography, color, and responsive design.
  • Familiarity with Figma or similar design tools (coursework or personal projects acceptable).
  • Strong willingness to learn, take feedback, and iterate quickly.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate in a remote environment.
