Job Description

The Director of Sports oversees the planning, development and implementation of sports programs, physical education and wellness initiatives across the institution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement the overall vision, strategy and policies for the sports department.
  • Oversee sports programs, inter-collegiate tournaments, training camps and physical education curriculum.
  • Manage sports facilities, gymnasiums and grounds, ensuring proper maintenance and utilization.
  • Identify, recruit and mentor talented athletes to represent the institution at various levels.
  • Collaborate with coaches, trainers and faculty to promote a culture of fitness and sportsmanship.
  • Organize workshops, seminars and awareness campaigns on health, fitness and sports.
  • Supervise and evaluate the performance of sports coaches and staff.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and promote ethical sports practices.

For this role, you will be responsible for leading our sports team in achieving its goals and promoting excellence in all aspects of sports.

Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Ph.D. in Physical Education, Sports Science or a related field.
  • Minimum 15 years of experience in sports administration, coaching or sports management.
  • Proven track record of managing large-scale sports events and teams.
  • Strong leadership, organizational and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of modern training methods, sports technology and performance analytics.
  • Record of having represented the university/college at inter-university / inter-collegiate competitions or the State and/or National championships.
